The Cambodia Communication Institute (CCI) under the umbrella of the Royal University of Phnom Penh was established with the assistance from the UNESCO and officially inaugurated by the Royal Government of Cambodia in 1994. Its aim is to strengthen the public participation in democracy by improving the quality of information through the local media and other information sources and to increase the flow of information through the development of independent press and media in Cambodia.

In an effort to develop a strong culture of access to information, journalists and media professionals must develop an understanding of what the legislation signifies, what their rights are and practice requesting official information. To Increase Demand for Access to Information (A2I) from the media sector, the Swedish International Development Aid, through UNESCO Phnom Penh, funds a three-years sub-project on Increasing Demand for A2I from the Media Sector implemented by the Cambodia Communication Institute of the Royal University of Phnom Penh from 2015 to 2017.

To assist in implementing the project, the CCI is now seeking for a qualified national candidate to fill in a full-time position as the Project Assistant. The successful candidate will be working under direct supervision of the Project Director and Project Coordinator to achieve the goals of the project.

Below are the details for the job:


Development and Execution of the CCI’s A2I Program
  • Assists the project coordinator in coordinating the preparation of the program and training curriculum with course trainers;
  • Proposes and implements extracurricular activities to enhance the qualities of the program;
  • Helps coordinate the preparation of training modules;
  • Supports the recruitment of working journalists to attend the program;
  • Coordinates and carries out daily administrative and organizational tasks throughout the training program;
  • Monitors trainees’ performance and archives necessary feedback;
  • Assists in the annual publication of the final investigative reports produced by the trainees and event management throughout the program, and


  • Helps build good communication between CCI, trainers and trainees.



Education Bachelor’s degree in any fields
Training and Certification
  • Basic skills and knowledge in accounting or administration
  • Skills in Microsoft Office
Experience Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. However, work experience as an accountant or administrator is a plus.
